Comparison

Checky vs DailyBot

DailyBot brings standups and AI workflows into Slack, Teams, Google Chat and Discord. Checky is a focused check-in tool you can also host yourself.

In short

DailyBot runs async standups in Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat and Discord. The free Starter plan includes standups for unlimited members; Essentials costs $2.40 per active user per month billed annually, Advanced $5. API access, unlimited exports and anonymous responses are Advanced features.

Checky skips the chat bot and works in the browser, by email and through ChatGPT and Claude via MCP. It fits better when you want to self-host or pay once, need SSO, API and export on every plan, and want absences and holidays to pause check-ins.

Checky fits better if …

  • Self-hosting or a one-time licence matters
  • API, export and SSO should be in every plan
  • Absences and public holidays should pause check-ins
  • Wellbeing answers must only show up as anonymous aggregates

DailyBot fits better if …

  • You want a free tool and your team lives in chat
  • You use Google Chat or Discord
  • You want AI workflows and agent features beyond check-ins

Switching from DailyBot to Checky

  1. 1

Export your check-in history from DailyBot (unlimited exports are an Advanced feature) and keep it as an archive. Checky can't import DailyBot data yet.

  2. 2

Pick where Checky runs: hosted at yourteam.checky.team (14-day trial, no card), on your own Cloudflare account (one-click deploy) or with Docker on your own server.

  3. 3

Recreate your questions as checks: schedule (e.g. weekdays at 9:00), type (yes/no, rating, text or KPI), expected answer and reaction window.

  4. 4

Invite your team or connect SSO (Google, Microsoft, OIDC or SAML) and verify your email domain so colleagues join automatically.

  5. 5

Add absences and public holidays so nobody gets asked while they're off.

  6. 6

Run both tools in parallel for a week or two, then switch DailyBot off. Your Checky data exports as one SQLite file whenever you want to move between hosted and self-hosted.

Questions

Is DailyBot free?

DailyBot's Starter plan is free and includes standups for unlimited members, with feature limits. If the free plan does what you need, it's hard to beat on price.

Does Checky integrate with Slack or Teams?

Not yet. Reminders go out by email; people answer in the web app, by replying to the email or from ChatGPT or Claude. Through the REST API and webhooks you can connect Checky to your own tools.

Where is my data stored?

With a Checky self-host licence: on your own server or Cloudflare account. DailyBot runs on AWS; we couldn't verify the data region from its public pages.
